"Ari Marcopoulos left Amsterdam for New York in 1980, for two years he printed photographs for Andy Warhol and between 1982 and 1984 was apprentice to Irving Penn. After leaving Penn he worked as a free-lance photographer. His photographs appeared in among others Manhattan Inc, Interview, Spin, Bomb, Avenue and Wolkenkratzer."--from the bio
