William Eggleston. Short 'afterword' by Jonathan Wingfield. Galerie 213/Marion Beaupre, 1998. First and only edition. Photo-illustrated die-cut thick card wrappers over paper wraps with mounted photo reproduction. Saddle stitched. Small quarto. Printed plastic pouch with original sticker closure. 31 tipped-in color reproductions on heavy stock with captions printed beneath the images.
A beautifully produced exhibition catalogue, this collection features tipped-in illustrations (that cleverly conceal the caption information) and a wonderful, irregular belt-like jacket, all of which is enclosed in an acetate slipcase. The images perfectly capture Eggleston's roving eye for the off-kilter snapshot and his impeccable dye-transfer printing technique.
Fine with original sticker (slightly worn from opening, with tiny tears).
