A handsome limited edition catalogue from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Susan Unterberg has long turned the medium of photography upon itself; like a Minimalist, she uses formal concerns of color, shape and depth of field to investigate the 'ordering' of photographic perception. In this volume, the bound-in window mats divides individual frames, creating an optical confusion that causes the view to question the unity of the compositions, and by extension our perceptual field.
