Bruce Barnbaum sequenced this major work to flow like a musical score. The book is divided into four movements: First Movement--Allegretto The Landscape, Second Movement--Adagio, Ma Non Troppo The Cathedral, (including photographs of Ely, Canterbury, Winchester, Westminster Abbey, Wells, Chichester, and Lincoln Cathedrals, among others), Third Movement--Scherzo Urban Geometrics, and Fourth Movement--Adaggio--Andante--Allegro--Presto The Slit Canyons (including Antelope and Paria Canyon). An influential and powerful book.
