Alexander Keighley. Artist and Photographer. A Memorial. Pictorial Group of the Royal Photographic Society, London, 1947. First edition. Small square quarto. Cloth. 23 pp. text + forty-eight warm halftone plates.
Keighley's photographic work spanned more than half a century. He was a Yorkshireman but travelled extensively, believing that a photographer was stimulated to do his best work by new surroundings. He was a member of two prestigious British photographic groups - the Royal Photographic Society and The Linked Ring. Known mainly for his romantic pictorial scenes, his images were exhibited in London, Paris, Vienna, Munich, and Washington, D. C. This memorial tribute includes an essay by fellow pictorial photographer J. Dudley Johnston.
A very good copy with only minor edge rubbing at some points of the extremities.
