View-camera logo of the school at top center. It states the terms of admission ("It is agreed that the student will cooperate with the instructors in the upholding of the standards and ideals of the school....")and requires information from the applicant, including education, photographic experience, references.

Some of the many photographers who studied at The Clarence H. White School who would have filled out an application such as this were Anton Bruehl, Laura Gilpin, Paul Outerbridge, Jr., Clara Sipprell, Ralph Steiner, Karl Struss, and Doris Ulmann. (The best reference on this important School is Pictorialism Into Modernism. The Clarence H. White School of Photography, published by Rizzoli in 1996.)
