Cognac. Texte de Louise DeVilmorin. Photographies de Robert Doisneau. Remy Martin, Paris, 1962. First edition. Stiff board with illustrated dustjacket. Large square quarto. Preliminaries + 4 pp. text + 27 pp. with black-and-white gravure images and three tipped-in color images. Publisher's complimentary card laid in.
An uncommon Doisneau book, which illustrates the production of the well-known French Remy Martin cognac from the planting of the vineyards to curing in barrels to crating the bottles. Many of Doisneau's gravure images show the obvious pride of the workers; includes a number of fine industrial portraits and scenes. The gravures were printed by Desfosses-Neogravure.
A fine copy; some soft surface creases at the edges of the stiff dustjacket. |
