Untitled. Photographs by Richard Misrach. Grapestake Gallery, San Francisco, 1979. Stiff Wrappers. First Edition. Quarto. 110 pp.
Richard Misrach's nighttime desert landscapes pushed him into national prominence. Made with a flash, these eerie photographs focus on monolithic natural features such as cacti, palm trees, and boulders. His images are not easily forgotten, recalling the surrealistic experience of driving through deserts at night, and seeing features of the landscape loom momentarily in the car headlights then recede into the dark. This early selection of original work is presented completely without text; all bibliographic information is printed only on the binding of the book.
Covers rubbed with some dents apparent; slight edgewear; otherwise a Fine crisp copy.
