Flowers and Trees. Photographs by Lee Friedlander. First edition. Clothbound with embossed title. No dustjacket as issued. Pages are spiral bound internally. 40 plates printed by The Stinehour Press and The Meriden Gravure Company from halftone negatives made by Richard Benson. New City, NY, Haywire Press, 1981. 84 pp.

This gorgeously reproduced book departs from Friedlander's more well-known subjects to focus on his pictorial photographs of flowers and trees. The photographs themselves nonetheless bear the signature style of this American master. The locations are diverse--New York, Arizona, France, Japan, Scotland, and many others--yet the vision remains utterly unique. Beautifully bound in purple cloth, the richly reproduced images are printed on heavy matte paper.

Boards are somewhat splayed; otherwise a beautiful Very Fine copy.
