Matt Mahurin: Photographs. First edition (limited to 3000 copies). Quarto. Clothbound in dust jacket. 47 gravure reproductions on uncoated paper stock. Twelvetrees Press, Pasadena, CA, 1989. 94 pp.
This dream-like book of photographs, Mahurin's first monograph, contains images made from within a Texas prison, inside a mental hospital, and from such diverse locations as Paris, London, Ireland, New York City, Haiti, and Nicaragua. These dark, disquieting pictures are successful in their collective evocation of a world frighteningly askew.
Some slight edge wear and light rubbing to an otherwise Fine dust jacket; Cloth cover has an 1-1/2 inch thread defect in lower center of front cloth cover; otherwise a beautiful, Fine copy of this stunning monograph.
