Court House, A Photographic Document. Edited by Richard Pare. Conceived and Directed by Phyllis Lambert. First edition. Large quarto. Clothbound in library protected, photo-illustrated dust jacket. Horizon Press, New York, 1978. 256 pp.

An exemplary photographic study of architecture, the beautifully printed color and black-and-white photographs of exteriors and interiors of American court houses convey a sense of the grand notion of justice. Includes images by Lewis Baltz, William Clift, Richard Pare, Stephen Shore, Nicholas Nixon, Todd Papageorge, Geoffrey Winningham and others. Pare, the editor, was the curator of the notable collection of nineteenth and twentieth century photographs of architecture assembled by the Centre for Canadian Architecture (Seagrams Collection) for many of its earlier years.

A beautiful Fine copy in a Fine protected dust jacket; very light edge wear to lower board.
