Agusti Centelles. Fotoperiodista (1909 - 1985). Fundacio Caiza de Catalunya, Barcelona, 1988. Introduction by Cornell Capa. First edition. Quarto. Cloth-backed boards with mounted photographic illustration. Text in Spanish and English. 192 pp.
Centelles was a leading Catalan photojournalist, noted for documenting events and life in his country during the Republic and the Spanish Civil War. This handsome volume was published in conjuntion with a retrospective exhibition; it contains sixty-one full page well-printed plates. In his Introduction, Capa writes: "The purpose of this anthological exhibit...is to give a survey of the entire work...Besides his well-known pictures of the 1936-1939 period of war, there are other photographs, many of which were hitherto unknown, first due to his exile, and, later, because they remained hidden in family archives."
Near fine; top outer corner of front cover lightly bumped and a few minor spots of soiling on cover.
