The Somnambulist. Photographs by Ralph Gibson. Lustrum Press, 1970. Unpaged. Thin quarto. Second edition. SIGNED on an image front fly leaf. Stiff illustrated wrappers. Black-and-white reproductions.
The first of Gibson's trilogy to be published by his own Lustrum Press. Gibson's oblique use of portraiture and dream-like sequencing revealed the persistance of Surrealism at a time when stream-of-consciousness photography was already established and the psychedelic era was in full swing.
Much more common in its second edition.
