Equally fascinated with the Manhattan's prosaic street life as well as its seamier underbelly, Keizo Kitajima's landmark 1982 book harkens back to Weegee and Klein, but also nods heavily to the 'rough, blurry, out-of-focus' style of his immediate Provoke-era predecessors. His images highlight the stark juxtapositions and quiet desperation of city life and, in the tradition of the flaneur, his eye zooms in on celebrity (the iconic cover of Mick Jagger; Andy Warhol and others), more-than-occasional decadence, and random displays of outrageous behavior.
Fine- with slight imperfections to upper corners; Fine dust jacket with just a trace of edge wear; lacking super-scarce obi.
