Directed by Larry Clark.
First Look Home Entertainment, Los Angeles, 2005.
From the director of Kids and Bully comes this energetic film about a band of South Central skate punks and their exploits in Beverly Hills. Instead of sex, drugs, and violence, Wassup Rockers explores racial tensions as these rebellious teenage Latinos are repeatedly harassed by bigots in between sessions of skateboarding, making out, and rocking out. Although not gentle by any means, this film exhibits an emotionality and sense of humor lacking from filmmaker Larry Clark's previous works.
