21st Editions, 2009.
12 bound platinum prints, one free-standing signed print,
In 2007, 21ST Editions published Mont-Saint-Michel, illustrated with signed platinum prints by Michael Kenna and text by Henry Adams. The entire edition sold out, sight unseen, in only fourteen days! That title then went on to win the 2008 Independent Publisher (IPPY) Book Award Silver Medal for “Best Book Arts Craftsmanship.”
21ST is now pleased to announce their second Michael Kenna book, entitled Huangshan: Poems from the T’ang Dynasty. In Kenna’s masterful photographs illustrating Huangshan, ethereal mists run like rivers haunting the mountains and valleys of one of China’s most picturesque lands. Kenna, one of the world’s greatest art photographers and the finest living master of landscape photography, has indeed captured the very essence of Huangshan more perfectly than it has ever been captured before. Twelve hand coated, fully signed platinum prints are accompanied by some of the greatest masterpieces of Chinese poetry, including many by famed mountain poet Han Shan (Cold Mountain), all of which are translated by Stanton Hager, the finest and most poetic translator of T’ang poetry.
Of Special Note: In order to customize each copy of Huangshan to the individual taste of our collectors, we are offering the opportunity to select any of the twelve signed platinum prints in Huangshan as the single free-standing signed print to accompany your personal copy of this stunning book.
