William Ropp (1960) is a renowned French photographer who is characterized by a unique and very personal. Artist creator of seductive and strong atmospheres, is known as 'the sculptor of the shadow' in form of portraits. In many cases, Ropp places the characters portrayed in complete darkness and takes photographs using long exposures on black backgrounds, with a lantern to light that draws on what he called 'the dance of light' . This manages to give his photographs of an aura of romance and enigmatic haunting vulnerability. Ropp takes portraits of children will pick up those mysterious aspects of human nature, body language and above all, to arouse in the viewer the emotions and memories of childhood.
