"Twenty-five years ago I met a young boy playing with an iguana in San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico. Five years ago I visited his village and resonated with the animist rituals of these Lacandon, Maya Indians. My focus has been three brothers age eighteen, twelve, and six. Now that the mahogany is logged throughout their land, the trees beside the village are gone, the mahogany that the boats are made of is gone, and the spirit of the Lacandon leaves as well. I have named this "Tender Hearts and Ancient Words".

Mississippi Blue: Henry P. Bosse and his Views on the Mississippi Rive Between Minneapolis and St. Louis, 1883-1891 Henry P. Bosse: Mississippi Blue
Between 1883 and 1892, Bosse photographed the Mississippi River from Minneapolis to St. Louis. He had been hired by the Army Corps of Engineers in their effort to document and understand the ever-changing river. These images were reproduced from a single album of cyanotypes. An absolutely gorgeous production from Twin Palms!

Roy Decarava: The Sound I Saw Roy DeCarava: The Sound I Saw
In the early 1960s DeCarava conceived, designed and hand bound a book mock-up which included his own poetry and close to 200 of his photographs of jazz musicians. It was never published becoming a thing of legend among photographers, an unrealized work that embodied the essence of jazz. Phaidon has now published this beautiful edition. We have only a few signed copies.

Susan Meiselas: Pandora's Box Susan Meiselas: Pandora's Box
Pandoras Box is a commercial S&M establishment in NYC, where, for $185/hour clients can enact their fantasies, thus opening the lid to a box of conscious and unconscious desires.
