Krista Elrick
"Long before I was diagnosed and treated for cancer, my photographs hinted toward mystery and irony within relationships. After the experience, these themes became central to my image making. I call this portfolio Withinsight because of the implied double meaning. 'Within sight' refers to the familiar subjects that surround my physical and emotional space, and 'with insight' suggests the vision that comes from memories and the knowledge gained after a personal crisis. The Diana camera with its lack of control has become the perfect tool for this metaphor and project."

Judy Olausen: Mother
"In the spirit of William Wegman and Cindy Sherman, Judy Olausen offers up a hillarious yet oddly unsettling collection of portraits of that most sacred of institutions: Mother. Photographing her mother using 1950s-inspired props she turns a lifelong homemaker into a surreal icon of all-American style domestic submission. From 'Mother as Coffee Table' to 'Mother as Doormat' or 'Roadkill,' Olausen creates visual metaphors for Mother's role in the era just preceding the women's liberation movement"--the publisher.
Other titles recommended for Mother's Day include: Motherhood, The Brown Sisters, Woman, and Mother.

Helmut Newton's Illustrated
This volume gathers together for the first time under one cover the four issues of Newton's own magazine, Illustrated. Originally published between 1985 and 1995 and now highly sought-after as collector's items, the four issues presented some of Newton's most provocative work. A wonderful collection that would be near-impossible to see otherwise.
