"This portfolio is a continuation of Portfolio I. The
images were made during subsequent visits over the past
year. I was privileged to visit the tiny village where Nicolasa
lives. She and her 78 year old daughter share a one-room
adobe casita. The room was crowded with family members when
I arrived. Thrilled with the photos I brought them; they
passed them around, squealing with delight."—Sharon

Doug Keyes
A powerful blending of the
conceptual with arresting visual beauty, these works by
Doug Keyes are color photographs of open books. Keyes creates
these pieces by making up to 20 exposures of different pages
from a single book on one piece of film. The resulting image
is luminous, transparent and three dimensional. The text
within the pages of the books is incomprehesible from the
bluriness yet the photographs offer the possibility of grasping
the book's entirety in a single reading.

Ron Van Dongen: Alba Nero
The first edition of this oversize, beautifully printed
book sold out upon publication in 1999, and we are extremely
happy to see it back in-print in the original format of
14x17 inches. The first of a triptych of monographs by this
photographer, Alba Nero sets the tone of Van Dongen's
studies of the botanical forms of nature with a sensitivity
that is rarely seen. Nudare and Vulgaris
are the other two titles and are still in-print. Limited
editions coming soon, please email
for information.

a sampling of images from four decades of work along with
brief snippets of text by the photographer. This SIGNED

Kristin
Capp: Hutterite: A World of Grace
Named one of the best books of 1998 by Andy Grundberg, Hutterite
is a classic documentary of a small group of one of America's
few remaining communal communities. Tracing their origins
to the Zurich Reformation, the Hutterites fled the religious
intolerance of Europe in the Sixteenth Century and settled
throughout North America.
