Gary Cawood: The Watchman's Room
"These photographs record the surface of reality but suggest something more. The haunting title image depicts an actual room set aside for the watchman. The book is also a kind of room, a space designated for the careful observer. What you will see are fragments from the external experience transformed for a more poetic interpretation."—Gary Cawood

Garry Winogrand: Winogrand 1964 Garry Winogrand: Winogrand 1964
"Winogrand: 1964 gives cohesive form to Garry Winogrand's America, in over 200 photographs made in a single year, the majority previously unpublished. Taken together, these unparalleled, newly researched images depict the country at a cultural crossroads, still a frontier nation-—naive and quirky—-but increasingly linked by information and entertainment media."—the publisher

There Is No Eye There Is No Eye exhibition opens in Santa Fe September 12
"The exhibition's name derives from Bob Dylan's liner notes to Highway 61 Revisited, which restates part of a conversation the friends had. 'You are right John Cohen... There is no eye—there is only a series of mouths—long live the mouths.' Cohen inspired other rock legends, including the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, who paid homage to Cohen in the song Uncle John's Band." For exhibition details and to read more about Cohen's photography and music, see the exhibition invitation.

Danny Lyon: The Destruction of Lower Manhattan Danny Lyon: The Destruction of Lower Manhattan
Commissioned by the New York State Council of the Arts, The Destruction of Lower Manhattan is Lyon's document of the destruction of one of Manhattan's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. Published in 1969, this was Danny Lyon's second book, released shortly after his ground-breaking The Bikeriders. This rare first printing copy is in Very Good condition. Small chips exist on the front and back of the original dustjacket as well as along the top of the spine, and the thin plastic coating is starting to peel in several minute areas. The book block is not damaged whatsoever.
