Terri Weifenbach and John Gossage: Snake Eyes
We are two photographers on the same days, in the same places taking photographs of different things in very different ways...There is a crystalline clarity in Terri's color, the particularity of her focus, her embrace of the beautiful. Far from random stuff. I, though, am the collector of clues, with a prejudice toward paths and borders, a lookout for the stones that have already been turned. - John Gossage

Linda Elvira Piedra: Passage
Looking is a passage. I began looking at what was familiar, seeking to go beyond appearances into a reality that is invisible. This showed me many extraordinary things about what I felt I knew, and slowly I began to discover the presence of a reality within myself. This is the passage - the way of going somewhere by looking. This looking becomes an emotional act of seeing, of love, and understanding. - Linda Elvira Piedra

JOCK STURGES: Color. JOCK STURGES: Jock Sturges Color.
"Some twenty years ago my wife, Maia, made a series of 35mm color transparencies as I was finishing a late evening shoot on the beach in France. Once developed, these pictures were a startling reminder of how the adaptive tendencies of the human eye blind us to the true nature of altered light. In fact, the low angle evening light that I had so come to prefer in France was even richer and warmer than Id been able to see. Her pictures kindled a small but persistent annual effort in colorrarely more than fifty or a hundred 8x10 transparencies a year."-Jock Sturges.

LENI RIEFENSTAHL: Five Lives. LENI RIEFENSTAHL: Five Lives.
Dancer, actress, photographer, filmmaker, and underwater documentarian, Leni Riefenstahl had a rich though controversial career. Facing ridicule and disgust at her role as official Third Reich filmmaker for the 1936 Olympics, she undauntedly continued to pursue her career in the post-War years. The monograph aptly examines the oeuvre of this enigmatic figure.
