Keith Carter Creates Photograms in Talbot's Shadow Series
Luna Moth, from Keith Carter's recent series of photograms, evokes the curiosity of 19th century insect collecting. "This work is a departure for me and grew out of my love for the pre-history of the medium. I first make one-of-a-kind photograms, or "shadow pictures", using 20x24 printing-out paper. I tone them in platinum, gold and other arcane solutions. Then using digital technology, Iight-jet prints are made on Fuji Crystal Archive paper."—Keith Carter.
