Carlos Diaz: Coney Island-Invented Landscapes, Portfolio II
Photo-eye Gallery is pleased to announce a new body of work from Carlos Diaz's Invented Landscapes series. Keeping with the theme of Industrial Revolution and amusement within Coney Island at the turn of the 20th century, Diaz has begun to add figures to these playful lanscapes. Whether dropping down from the sky our sprouting up from an amusement ride, these traces of human presence bring a new form of subjective humor to the work.

Joy Goldkind's portfolio Girl Friends
"This is the story of my husband, a man of strange and extreme personality changes. This particular body of work is based on what is real and what is not. Each picture may seem like a comedy, but is really a small part of of a complex man."—Joy Goldkind |

 | Closing this Friday: Ed Ruscha's Every Building on Sunset Strip Ruscha's book projects are among the most significant works of art of the 60s. Every Building on Sunset Strip is the most ambitious of these works. While he shares Pop Art's concern with American vernacular imagery, he also had an enormous influence on 70s Conceptual artists' concerns with seriality and typology. A much sought after work of true historical import! Listed in The Book of 101 Books.
Beautiful Fine copy in Very Good slipcase. |

Douglas Mellor: In Situ
"The depth of Douglas Mellor¹s introspective nature is manifest in his photography. Images of clarity, intensity, and thoughtfulness.
Not of the school of photography that merely documents (however eloquently), Mellor is an artist who takes inspiration in the promise and beauty of photography¹s silver mirror..."

David Maisel: The Lake Project—Signed
Maisel took to the air over Owens Lake in 2001 and 2002 capturing hallucinatory scenes of color and texture that nearly conceal the fact that
they are aerial views. The sheer size of the areas photographed are at direct odds with the microscopic and abstract, two-dimensional space that Maisel creates in these images. READ MORE

Mona Kuhn: Photographs
"MONA KUHN'S PHOTOGRAPHS evoke states of being that are at once foreign and familiar. When one encounters her images, one feels the dislocation of a time traveler encountering a realm that we, in modern life, have almost lost through our carelessness or consciously abandoned with our callousness."—Charles Katz
