Eric Fredine's portfolio Prairie Waters
In the Prairie Waters series, I am photographing the imprint of elemental forces on the canvas of water, sky and soil...I frame my images to create ambiguity and abstraction. This re-enforces the sense of isolation and reveals the primal nature of these environments by emphasizing underlying forms and colors.—Eric Fredine |

| On the Block: Hosoe & Mishima: Barakei (Killed by Roses) As Vince Aletti writes in The Book of 101 Books, Barakei (Killed by Roses) is so splendidly packaged that just opening it is a pleasure—and the seduction doesn't stop there...Mishima, Japan's most celebrated and controversial modern novelist, was also a brilliant provocateur and his presence here turns [the book] into a charged collaboration between artists testing one another's limits."
Other rare Japanese titles on the block include: Daido Moriyama: Sashin yo Sayonara (Bye Bye Photography, Dear); Ikko Narahara: Japanesque & Where Time Has Stopped; and Yutaka Takanashi: Machi. Many more to come. |

Clifford Ross: Wave Music—Signed
Three bodies of work are presented here: Hurricane, Horizons, and Grain. All three groupings present formalist views of the sea—the first two are explicit, whereas the last is implied. These rich ideas, presented in a broad movement coursing throughout the book, is at the heart of Ross's project.—Darius Himes
