Dane Shitagi's portfolio Ballerina Project
The Ballerina Project of New York City grew from the idea that the city is a magnet for creativity. Each photograph is a collaborative work of dance, fashion design and photography played out against the city's landscape. A mixture of amateur and professional ballerina dancers were selected from the tri-state area.

Paul Graham: A1- The Great North Road Paul Graham: A1- The Great North Road
Paul Graham's influential first book, self-published in 1983, documents The Great North Road that runs the length of England 400 miles from London to Edinburgh. His subdued color photos are a mournful document of a grey nowhere land in a country moving too fast to stop for a cup of tea.

Also on the block: Inscribed books by Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau; spooky Czech masterpiece On the Needle of These Days; signed books by the Bechers, and much more!!
Bids shown below are current as of 6:37 pm MT, 05.23.2007

Broomberg & Chanarin: Chicago Broomberg & Chanarin: Chicago
"Acclaimed photographers Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin have produced a highly original visual analysis of contemporary Israel. In their images, nothing is as it seems. A watermelon is revealed to be a suicide bomb; a forest is actually a forensic investigation. Through this collection of simulated landscapes, buildings and objects, a new perspective on Israel begins to emerge."—the publisher READ MORE

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy: Color in Transparency Laszlo Moholy-Nagy: Color in Transparency
"Until now, with only a few exceptions, [Moholy-Nagy's] work in color has been unknown. Color in Transparency presents 100 pieces—including advertisements, portraits, urban views, New Bauhaus studies and abstract compositions— created between Moholy-Nagy's first experiments with the medium in 1934 and his death in 1946. A foreword by his daughter, Hattula Moholy-Nagy, and an essay and captions by art historian and critic Jeannine Fiedler, along with a chronology and bibliography, elucidate the history of this appealing and accessible area of Moholy-Nagy's work, as well as its significance in his oeuvre."—the publisher READ MORE

Gregory Crewdson: Fireflies Gregory Crewdson: Fireflies
"Crewdson was drawn to the flickering lights, in part, by the underlying impossibility of capturing their elusive beauty in pictures. This luxurious volume, featuring 61 full-page tritone reproductions, calls to mind many of the hallmarks of Crewdson's oeuvre, from the sense of wonder in the nocturnal landscape, to the focus on light as a narrative event, to the fascination with nature as a psychological mystery."—the publisher READ MORE

Klaus Staeck: Pornografie Klaus Staeck: Pornografie
"Here is a bewildering collection of curios of everyday violence: press photos of street fights, naked victims of war, and tortured prisoners follow staged body-art pictures and a wide array of objects colored by desire, power, exposure, and surveillance. With a name that refers to x-rated images and the obscene, the works shown in Pornografie may be far from a voyeur's expectations."—the publisher READ MORE
