Kim Hunter's portfolio Angels and Insects
"Each image is a combination of original and found photography, painting, and collage using odd bits of ephemera and vintage imagery. I strive to create stories that are poetic, whimsical and haunting. At their core this work is a meditation on the human experience, the passage of time, and childhood. They're explorations of the thin realm that exists between what we see and what we can't."—Kim Hunter

| Nobuyoshi Araki: Sentimental Journey--Okinawa Sequel A scarce, very early Araki title that predates by several years his preoccupation with life's erotic underbelly. These unpremeditated fragments of everyday life anticipate the diaristic approach taken by many contemporary photographers. Araki's books from the early seventies are much sought after. |

Daido Moriyama: it
"A photographer who channels all the contradictions and idiosyncrasies inherent in the idea of modernity and consistently delivers something which is simultaneously aggressive and argumentative as well a hypnotic and seductive. Photographs as they are meant to be experienced, intimately."—Vince Aletti from the photo-eye Spring 2007 Booklist READ MORE

Robert Frank: C'est Vrai! (One Hour)
"C'est vrai! (One Hour) is a single-take of Robert Frank and actor Kevin O'Connor walking and riding in the back of a minivan through lower Manhattan. Shot between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. on July 26, 1990, it appears to document a journey, but this little and little-known book, first issued by Hanuman in 1992, reveals it to have had a script (by Frank and his assistant, Michal Rovner) and enough actors (27) and crew to fill two pages of credits."—the publisher READ MORE

John Pilson: Interregna
"These photographs document a pre-9/11 moment—the officescape of a 24/7 investment bank at the height of the dot-com bubble, where John Pilson (*1968) worked as a computer graphics operator on the graveyard shift. Using the opportunities provided by the "dead time" of late night and early morning, he began to explore this space using still and video photography. The expected elements are all present: cubicles, fluorescent light, smeared gray carpet, beige boxes. The landscape of New York's financial district, seen through windows, provides the occasional background. A clue to Pilson's discoveries here is provided by the title."—the publisher READ MORE
