Ellen Susan's portfolio Soldier Portraits
I became interested in soldiers when I moved to Savannah, Georgia, which is near two large military installations; Fort Stewart, and Hunter Army Airfield. Having never lived in a place with any significant military presence, the lives of soldiers had always been a relatively abstract concept to me...—Ellen Susan

Rob McDonald: Birdhouses
"Birdhouses opens with an illuminating essay by the photographer about this body of work, and all text throughout the book is painstakingly letterpress-printed by hand. The images are Indigo print reproductions of McDonald's hand-printed and hand-toned photographs, and each book includes an actual gelatin silver darkroom print ('Nestled') presented in a clear vellum envelope adhered to the inside back cover. Inside paper is Mohawk's luxurious Superfine 100lb eggshell, and the entire 60-page book is hand-sewn with linen thread.
Each of the edition's 135 copies is signed and numbered by the photographer. Numbers 1-25 are presented in a clamshell box with a letterpress printed spine label, and also feature a second larger darkroom print unique to this publication (and not found in the book)."—the publisher
Deluxe Limited Edition of this book also available with an additional larger print for $295.

Edward Weston's Book of Nudes
More copies arriving in a week. Preorder now.
"In 1953 the writer and curator Nancy Newhall assembled, with the cooperation of the photographer Edward Weston, a mock-up for an elegant book featuring Weston's photographs of the nude. It was the only book on this subject that Weston himself participated in creating. The sample book intersperses landscapes and still lifes with nude studies and includes an essay written by Newhall on the artist's aesthetic."—the publisher READ MORE
