Announcing photo-eye's Affiliation with Amazon.com

We are tremendously excited to announce the integration of Amazon's database of millions of books into the photo-eye website. Now you can order all types of books through photo-eye (even those that are out-of-print) and take advantage of Amazon's deep discounts and low shipping rates including free shipping for qualified orders.

Greater discounts, cheaper shipping charges, and fewer backorders are our three biggest customer requests. Now we are able to make this a reality.
Our new dual shopping cart system and the seamless integration of Amazon's book database into our website makes it incredibly easy to order a great variety of books. Please keep in mind that you will still be supporting
photo-eye if you use the photo-eye/Amazon shopping cart system as we will receive credit for these orders.

We'll continue to carry (and fulfill) our great selection of collectible books including signed, small press, limited editions, and foreign titles. In fact, letting Amazon fulfill many of the more widely available books frees us to focus more on what we do best: bringing you great new esoteric and collectible photography books from around the world.

Thank you for your continued support!

Frank Gohlke: Accommodating Nature Frank Gohlke: Accommodating Nature
"Thought-provoking essays by Rebecca Solnit, Frank Gohlke, and John Rohrbach expand upon the issues raised by the images, contemplating the complexities of human and cultural geography and the relationships we have with our respective place. An arresting and vibrant visual essay combining magnificent vistas with intimate emotional detail, 'Accommodating Nature' exposes the intricate threads that bind our lives to the land surrounding us."—the publisher READ MORE

Alison Jackson: Alison Jackson Alison Jackson
"Alison Jackson has photographed the Queen of England on the toilet, George Bush and Tony Blair chatting in the sauna, Mick Jagger doing gymnastics, and Monica Lewinsky lighting Bill Clinton's cigar. Or has she? The likenesses are uncanny, but of course, her subjects are look-alikes. Her photos demonstrate that while seeing is believing, the truth is another story entirely."—the publisher READ MORE

Robert Mapplethorpe: Mapplethorpe: Polaroids Robert Mapplethorpe: Mapplethorpe: Polaroids
"Robert Mapplethorpe's black-and-white Polaroid photographs of the 1970s are brought together in this exquisite Volume for the first time. Critically praised for his classically composed photographs, Mapplethorpe remains intensely controversial and enormously popular. Revealing the themes that would inspire him throughout his career, this book brings together almost three hundred images, many never published, from the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation's archive and private collections, to provide a critical view of Mapplethorpe's formative years as an artist."—the publisher READ MORE

Gossage and Parr: Ordinary Obvious: America, 2006 Gossage and Parr: Ordinary Obvious: America, 2006
"The two photographers collaborated on this project while taking a trip to Memphis, on their way to meet up with William Eggleston. They photographed America during this mock-up road trip, albeit not as eponymously as the artists' choice of aliases, Obvious or Ordinary (AKA Martin Parr and John Gossage).

There is virtually no text to be found within the 42 pages of only photographs, colour and black & white. 1500 copies - Destined to be one of the rarest Parr publications!"—the publisher READ MORE

Daido Moriyama: Hawaii Daido Moriyama: Hawaii

Due in November. Limited to 500 SIGNED copies!! Preorder now.

"'In Spring, I am going to go to Hawaii to photograph. I'm so excited, and a little anxious - I've never been there before. The idea of Hawaii has been stuck in my mind for many, many years, just as the idea of a place. I try to imagine what it's like, and I have a certain image of it - a nostalgic place, a place where time has stopped. When I get there, I'll probably find out it's nothing like that....'—Daido Moriyama, 2004

Andy Goldsworthy: Enclosure Andy Goldsworthy: Enclosure
Due this month. Preorder now.

"Since 1995, Andy Goldsworthy has created a series of artworks in Northwest England in sheepfolds: stone enclosures found across the countryside that have been used for assembling, sheltering, and washing sheep for hundreds of years. After working on and off for more than a decade, he completed thirty-five folds, often rebuilding them in the process; many of them can now once again serve their intended purpose."—the publisher READ MORE

David Drebin: Love and Other Stories David Drebin: Love and Other Stories

Due this month. Preorder now.

"LOVE & OTHER STORIES - in spite of David Drebin being a master of staging, the figures entangled in their emotions all seem to feel unobserved and safe. We remain unaware about the causes of the passionate feelings of his female characters, their experiences before being captured in their apparently agitated moods. One has to create a story behind these photos and this way embark on an exciting journey into the imagination. They remind us of film scenes we have never seen. David Drebin's photos are very expressive, matching the subjects that are filled with exciting details. The observer can't escape the mood of each female character highlighted in these photos."—the publisher READ MORE
