Zoe Zimmerman's Portfolio Acts of Nature
"The images in this portfolio were culled from my first solo museum
show, entitled "Acts of Nature." Making what I see as an inevitable
leap from conduit to creator, I have shifted my modus operandi from
finding and recording to initiating and composing. The simple
subjects of this series are taken out of their 'natural' context,
thus becoming performances of a sort, hence "Acts of Nature." I find
my work to be most compelling when it is simultaneously alluring and
daunting. I appreciate imagery that asks more questions than it answers." — Zoe Zimmerman

| Blossfeldt: Konstformer I Naturen (Art Forms in Nature--Rare Swedish Edition!) A rare find!! This is the extremely rare Swedish edition of Blossfeldt's much-loved Urformen der Kunst (Art Forms in Nature). Unlike the better known German, English, and French editions that are bound in green cloth, this 1930 Swedish edition is richly bound in three-quarter leather (spine and corners). It contains the same 120 plates, also printed rich gravure. |

Risaku Suzuki: Yuki Sakura
Due in February. Pre-order Now.
"In Yuki Sakura, Risaku Suzuki presents two quintessential Japanese subjects - snowfall and cherry blossoms - in a manner that is at once timeless and refreshingly new. Yuki Sakura opens with photographs of snowflakes drifting weightlessly in a deep blue Hokkaido night sky. These are followed by high-key landscapes of freshly-fallen snow bathed in morning light, punctuated by the merest suggestions of trees rising above the white drifts. The book ends in a crescendo of cherry blossoms against a backdrop of the branches from which they burst forth; the use of extreme selective focus in these last photographs softens the flowers into light pink cloud-forms, creating a full circle."-the publisher

Dinu Li: The Mother of All Journeys
"Shortlisted in the 2007 Rencontres d'Arles Photobook Award
Inspired by the memories of his mother, originally told to Dinu Li as childhood bed-time stories, The Mother of All Journeys traces, through photographs and personal quotes, the story of a woman born in rural China and her escape to a new life via Hong Kong and eventually the industrial north of England.
Li collaborated with his mother, using each other's recollections as starting points and comparing the actual with the images lodged in their minds."—the publisher READ MORE

Keith Arnatt: I'm a Real Photographer
"Feeling he had exhausted its possibilities, Arnatt announced his conversion to the then-unfashionable medium of photography. He subsequently worked prolifically over twenty-five years within a short radius of his home in South Wales, making photographic series—mainly of cats, dogs, and the debris of everyday life—that are conceptually sharp, often very funny, and offer a rich commentary on the history of photography."—the publisher READ MORE
