Right: Portraits from the Evangelical Ivy Leaguereviewed by Charles Dee Mitchell
Michael Farris, the constitutional lawyer who fought hard for the legislation that has allowed the homeschooling movement to flourish across America, founded Patrick Henry College in 2000. | Bill Burke: I Want To Take Picture (First Edition!) "I Want To Take Picture is not a photojournalist's look at a 'story' but a personal tale that involves a search for something less definable....
Beyond the photography which is good, it was how Burke put this book together that was a new shift to bookmaking. By employing the use of three-dimensional ephemera re-photographed and stripped into the layout, he expands the typical page into the illusion of a full sensory experience."—Jeff Ladd, from his must-read photobook blog, 5B4 |

Eikoh Hosoe: Barakei
Copies arriving in two to three weeks. Limited supply, order early.
"In the fall of 1961, the photographer Eikoh Hosoe, then in his late 20s, agreed to make a series of portraits of the controversial author Yukio Mishima. They named their collaboration Barakei (bara' meaning 'rose' and 'kei' meaning 'punishment,' although the two decided on Killed by Roses as the English title). The original edition, designed by Kohei Sugiura, established the standard for the two subsequent editions of 1971 (which chimed with Mishima's suicide) and 1985. Aperture now issues this facsimile of the 1963 original, making available once again one of the most infamous and intriguing photobooks of the twentieth century.
Published in a limited edition of 500 copies for Aperture and 500 for NADiff. Each copy is signed and numbered by the artist."—the publisher READ MORE

Accompanying every portrait is a text written by each subject touching on some aspect of his or her experience as an operator. Whether touching, humorous, or disturbing, every operator's point of view is compelling."—the publisher READ MORE

Copies arriving in 2 to 3 weeks.
"Ms.Vargas came to live in the Presidio three years ago during this momentary pause in its long life.
