Tim Davis: My Life in Politics—Signed
"Somebody needs to tell Tim Davis to stop being such a smart-ass. But it's not going to be me. The saucy quality of his smarter-than-thou stance keeps his high-wire cultural critique aloft. Just check his captions in this new collection. A photograph of the Connecticut Senate Floor-the floor itself, with an apparently water-logged, magenta carpet, ringed by desks that are peopled only by laptops and towering bound volumes-is described thus: "That's the budget in blue. A picture of a filibuster, so the senators are on Blackberries or in the can, or getting counted. Every photograph is a filibuster, a running commentary to nobody occupying attention but not space, and also a thing to block the other side-the unseen, the unattended, and the arch-from speaking."" — George Slade
(photo-eye only has 3 signed copies available, and we do not anticipate stocking more when these sell out.)

Gilbert Fastenaekens: Essaie Pour Une Archéologie Imaginaire
"Gilbert Fastenaekens decided to continue his night work, but on the industrial sites of Lorraine rather than in urban environments. Although the photos still have a theatrical side which was so evident in 'Nocturne,' as well as a very particular sense of time - that of a rhythmic hold between two beats - they are also, as a while, both more monumental and more bare." —the publisher
This book was originally priced at $87 and we have a few copies on sale for $59.95. We do not plan to re-stock this item once it sells out.

IN THE REVIEWS:
" Archivo explores remarkable archives.
The first seven issues of the quirky photo magazine Archivo are now bundled into one solid folder. Each issue consists of two folio paper quires devoted to the personal archive of a photographer.
The originators of this project, photographer Paul Kooiker and publisher Willem van Zoetendaal who both live and work in Amsterdam, selected intriguing images made or collected by young photographers."— from Han Schoonhoven's review of Archivo
