Justine Reyes' portfolio Vanitas
"Taking inspiration from Dutch Vanitas paintings, these photographs incorporate personal artifacts within the traditional construct of still life. Pairing objects that belonged to my grandmother with my own possessions speaks to the concept of memory, familial legacy and the passage of time. The incorporation of modern elements such as the Saran wrap, plastic, sugar packages etc, as well as the use of photography itself add an additional layer of nostalgia and irony when viewed within the historical framework of Vanitas painting."— Justine Reyes

| Harry Callahan: Photographs (El Mochuelo Gallery Monograph)
Published by El Mochuelo Gallery, Santa Barbara, California, this definitive Callahan volume was produced at a time when large publishers were not supporting such deluxe photobook projects. Emphasis is on his minimalist nature studies, elegantly modernist images of his wife Eleanor, cityscapes, and multiple image experiments. The plates were printed by the renowned Meriden Gravure Company.
Also on the block Michael Kenna's sumptuous Mont-Saint-Michel from 21st Editions, an edition of just 60 copies, featuring lush platinum prints. |

Moi Ver: Paris
"The book that introduced Moi Ver to the world is exhilaratingly eccentric, definitely avant-garde.... Moi Ver's Paris is a city in motion, hurtling almost out of control. Cobblestone streets, bustling crowds, facades, railway tracks, bridges. the glittering river, and countless monuments shift and shatter here.... Moi Ver's version of Paris was eclipsed two years later by the publication of Brassai's more conventionally seductive Paris de Nuit, but no one has yet matched Moi Ver's vision of the brutal, chaotic, irresistible modern city."
-Vince Aletti, from the Book of 101 Books

Toshio Shibata: Landscape 2—Signed
"Twelve years ago, Nazraeli Press published Toshio Shibata's Landscape, the artist's first Western monograph and one which sold out upon publication. In the interim, Shibata has moved to large-format color photography, maintaining as his subject the spectacular, anti-erosion engineering structures so prevalent in the mountainous inland regions of Japan and parts of the United States."—the publisher

IN THE REVIEWS:
"Show documents the flamboyant performers of the neo-burlesque movement in a variety of US cities between 2001 and 2009. The term neo-burlesque is a press tag used to describe a new type of transgressive burlesque that has emerged over the last ten years, which combines old time vaudeville or sideshow entertainment with the ethos of post feminism and gender bending."— from John Mathews's review of Show with photographs by Henry Horenstein

"When I first flipped through the pages of RJ Shaughnessy's book Deathcamp, I felt an immediate familiarity with the images that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Was it the nature of the images themselves? Photographs of relatively self-destructive behavior have been popular for the last few decades, so what ultimately separates these images from those of Jonnie Craig, Larry Clark, or Dash Snow? Or could it be that these photographs felt eerily parallel to my own experience of attending art school? (Certainly the cause of my initial pretentiousness.)"— from Antone Dolezal's review of Deathcamp with photographs by RJ Shaughnessy
