Michelle Frankfurter's portfolio Borderlands

"This portion of my Borderlands project documents itinerant Central Americans within Mexico. In many ways they resemble the protagonists of adventure novels and epic tales. In an odyssey of wandering, they travel on foot, often relying on a network of freight trains lurching across Mexico in search of work. With their small backpacks filled with essential possessions, they leave behind homes and families to exist in a land of nomadic purgatory. Many are in their teens. Spirited as yearlings, they often appear oblivious to the harsh realities that accompany this journey."— Michelle Frankfurter

Rob Hornstra: 101 Billionaires Rob Hornstra: 101 Billionaires—Signed
"Under Vladimir Putin's rule, Russia has reclaimed its position among the superpowers of the world in the past eight years, the economic recession and the tumultuous nineties seemingly all but forgotten. Thanks to the country's huge abundance of raw materials such oil and natural gas, the Russian economy is flourishing as never before. After a mere 18 years of capitalism, the January 2008 issue of Finans Magazine reported that there are currently 101 billionaires in Russia." —the publisher

Massimo Vitali: Les Plages du Var: les pieds dans l'eau (SIGNED) Massimo Vitali: Les Plages du Var: les pieds dans l'eau (SIGNED)
Vitali's fascinating and highly detailed images tend to make the most of this irony. Full of sociological incident (details of which are picked out and enlarged to make separate 'pictures within pictures,' printed on thin, semi-transparent paper that looks like paper napkins), they are a powerful indicator of how we crave nature at the same time as destroying it."—Parr and Badger

Camille Solyagua: One Picture Book #27 Camille Solyagua: One Picture Book #27

"Red-crowned cranes are considered to be sacred by the Japanese people. Once almost extinct, today approximately 2,000 of the rare birds remain in all of Eastern Asia. Since 2002, Camille Solyagua has repeatedly traveled to the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido in mid-winter to pay homage and photograph the birds. With grace and elegance she has produced a series of remarkable photographs, brought together here in her contribution to our One Picture Book series. This is the artist's fourth book with Nazraeli Press."—the publisher

Each book from Nazraeli's One Picture Book series includes an original photograph tipped into the book. This volume includes a black-and-white print by Camille Solyagua. Order early, we only have a few copies available at the special price of $95. This One Picture Book is going for as much as $150 or more elsewhere.

From Tokyo Untitled

"Renato D'Agostin's Tokyo Untitled is a beguiling book. At first glance, I wanted to dismiss it. The second time through it, some of the images drew me in with their formal simplicity and high contrast, but others appeared only to be exercises in design and contrast." —From Tom Leininger's review of Tokyo Untitled by Renato D'Agostin

"In the midst of all the press surrounding the new New Topographics exhibition organized by the George Eastman House and the Center for Creative Photography now on international tour through at least 2012, Joe Deal, one of the original photographers and curators involved in the pivotal 1975 show has added to his oeuvre with a fantastic body of work and book, West and West." —From Larissa Leclair's review of West and West by Joe Deal
