Traer Scott's portfolio Natural History"Natural History is a series of completely candid, in-camera single exposure images which merge the living and the dead, in an effort to construct allegorical narratives of our troubled co-existence with nature. Ghost-like reflections of modern visitors viewing exquisitely rendered wildlife dioramas are juxtaposed against the preserved subjects themselves, their faces molded into permanent expressions of fear, aggression or fleeting passivity." — Traer Scott

photo-eye Book Reviews

|
from the book The Mushroom Collector
|
The Mushroom Collector by Jason Fulford"As co-founder of the publishing house J&L Books and author of a handful of titles of his own including Sunbird, Crushed and Raising Frogs for $$$, Jason Fulford is certainly no stranger to the photobook. This holds true in viewing his latest publication, The Mushroom Collector." — from the review by Shane Lavalette of Jason Fulford's The Mushroom Collector

from the book Juchitan De Las Mujeres
|
Juchitan De Las Mujeres by Graciela Iturbide"In 1979, Graciela Iturbide was just one of a group of artists invited by Juchitán-native Francisco Toledo to create work in his hometown in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The town of Juchitán de Zaragoza, the district to which it belongs, and the unique culture of its inhabitants form the subject matter of Juchitán de las Mujeres (a title which translates, awkwardly, as 'Juchitán of Women')." — from the review by Faye Robson of Graciela Iturbide's Juchitan De Las Mujeres

 from the book Kyklades
|
A Closer Look - Kyklades
"The Kyklades are a group of Greek islands scattered through the Aegean Sea and are the subject of Ali Bosworth's modest softbound of the same name published by Guttlund Verlag. Taken in the summer of 2008, Kyklades is a blend of surreal snapshots, including portraits, seascapes and an interesting mix of landscapes and everyday objects." — Antone Dolezal

| Paul Fusco: RFK Funeral Train (True First Edition!) Not to be confused with the two later editions (Umbrage, 2001 and Aperture, 2008)!! This original edition of Paul Fusco's classic work was first produced as a set of bound xerographs by The Photographer's Gallery in London...The edition was intended to be just 350 copies, but even that small number was never realized, making it an extremely scarce and sought after volume. |
