| Tadanori Yokoo: Waterfall Rapture (A RARE SIGNED COPY!) This dizzyingly obsessive anthology contains literally thousands of photographic postcards of waterfalls, collected from all over the world. The images are grouped thematically and historically, repeating motifs sprinkled liberally with oddities such as Marilyn Monroe perched atop the guardrail of a barely perceptible waterfall. Included in The Photobook: A History, Vol. II.
A rare signed copy!! |

"With profound respect for the integrity of the viewer's experience and the artist's vision, Aperture presents to the public the finest photographic images that are faithful to the artist's intent and to the truth of the subject. These images are conveyed as intended by the artist, uncompromised by commercial motive, marketplace trends, or external censorship."—from the Aperture mission statement.
The Aperture Foundation was founded in 1952 by Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan, Minor White, Beaumont Newhall, and Nancy Newhall. After starting the publication of Aperture magazine, they then expanded into book publishing and exhibitions. Aperture gallery in New York will be hosting an exhibition featuring many of the artists published in the magazine during 2005-2006. The show opens January 11th.
Some of the artists represented will be Eirik Johnson, Lise Sarfati, William Christenberry, Robert Adams, Adam Broomberg, Oliver Chanarin, Elinor Carucci, and Alex Webb.
photo-eye is pleased to offer signed copies of some of the latest Aperture books: Tim Davis's My Life in Politics, Andrea Robbins and Max Becher's The Transportation of Place, Richard Renaldi's Figure and Ground, and the first printing of Jonas Bendiksen's Satellites.
