David Wolf's portfolio Transform/Transcend
Transform/Transcend delights in the sheer physicality of architecture even as it suggests its very impermanence. As we look at these buildings their blurred lines and sepia tones push at our sense of time. We try to place the images somewhere between now and then, as if each one asks us to identify it as new or old.

| Miyako Ishiuchi: Monochrome
Miyako Ishiuchi began her studies in art as a weaving major at Tama Art University. She left before completing her degree in 1970. She is now recognized as one of Japan's pioneering woman photographers. She was Japan's representative at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. In a 1994 review, critic Donald Kuspit wrote, "[Ishiuchi] wants to turn the ordinary into the abstract: to purify the presence of certain otherwise ugly, unsightly, banally human shapes. She suggests that everything can be redeemed by the grace of art—by the right shading, the right placement, the right distance..." |

"The photographs in this book were taken in Hackney Wick and later buried there. The amount of time the images were left undergournd varied depending on the amount of rainfall. Jeff Wall American Retrospective Catalogue and Writings
In conjunction with the American traveling retrospective exhibition of Jeff Wall's work, the three insitiutions hosting the show—Museum of Modern Art, New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago— have complied an accompanying catalogue, simply titled Jeff Wall. Although the catalogue is smaller than the Catalogue Raisonne published in tandem with the European retrospective, this volume contains an interview with Wall by James Rondeau, curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. Along with the catalogue, MoMA has culled a collection of text and images called Selected Essays and Interviews with 14 essays and 23 interviews from the past 25 years. Works and Collected Writings, a work of over 150 illustrations and 300 pages, will also be published this year. All three books are due in March.
