Just arrived at our warehouse, signed copies of There Was a Forest:
Jewish Life in Eastern Europe Today, 2005-2008. by Loli Kantor, published by the L. Nowlin Gallery in Austin. There Was a Forest is an in-depth look at contemporary Jewish communities in Ukraine, their shape as outlined by the legacy of the Holocaust, the Soviet era and the "relentless march of modernity." This exploration is engaged in two ways, Palladium prints — some presented as diptychs and triptychs — represent that past (both formally and materially), while a series of gentle color images engage the immediate present and changing future of these communities. Signed copies of this stunning work are now in stock.
Signed copies of Erik van der Weijde's new publication Superquadra, published by Roma, have also just arrived at our warehouse. In the late 1950s, Brazilian modernest Lucio Costa designed BrasÃlia, the new capital city — built from scratch in previously uninhabited land. The most important element of his master plan were the "Superquadras", large residential blocks with a repeating pattern, conglomeration of raised buildings and commercial space. Superquadra is a gorgeous exploration of these spaces in black & white, from one of the most exciting contemporary Dutch photographer / bookmakers. Signed copies now in stock.
