Situationen und Objekte--Eine Monographie von Jörg Krichbaum. Photographs by Heinrich Riebesehl. Text by Jörg Krichbaum. W.Schulz-Verlag/Riesweiler, 1978. 136 pp. Quarto. First edition. Clothbound in photo-illustrated dust jacket. Black-and-white reproductions.
Heinrich Riebesehl was among the first European photographers to engage intensively with the aesthetics of American photographers like Robert Adams, William Eggleston and Stephen Shore. His 1979 book Agrarlandschaften is included in Parr & Badger, The History of the Photobook, vol. II. Though Riebesehl's style is firmly in line with the Objectivist tendencies of the Dusseldorf School, he was a student of Otto Steinert, the guiding light behind the Subjective Photography movement at the Folkwangschule in Essen during the 1960s. As Parr & Badger explain, this 1978 book became the basis for the influential book Agrarlandschaften.
