Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. Photographs by Frederick Sommer. Edited and introduction by John Weiss. Essays by Jonathan Williams, Roberta Hellman, and Marvin Hoshino. Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington, 1980. 69 pp. First Edition. SIGNED on preliminary page. 24 duotone reproductions.
Accompnied by framed exhibition poster (measures 18 x 24 in.; unknown edition size--thought to be no more than 100-200), signed by Sommer in pencil and featuring the famous 'Coyotoes' image), from Delaware Art Museum's 1980 show of his work.

The catalogue from a 1980 exhibit at the Delaware Art Museum, along with a rare, signed exhibition poster that features one of Sommer's most well-known images. This was the most comprehensive showing of Sommer's work at that time, with photographs made from 1939 through 1977. The separate checklist included reproduces the show in its entirety. An important catalogue highlighting the work of this somewhat neglected artist.
