Bear Pond appeared at time when AIDS was ravaging the gay community. It's idealized imagery of a classicized idyll where well-chiseled men frolic in nature is a poignant counterpoint to the devastation being wrought by the disease in urban gay communities. The book was made to benefit the AIDS Resource Center in New York. More than 100 images are reproduced in lush tritone. A rare inscribed copy!
Fine-/Near Fine+; some light scuffing and a few tiny stains page edges; corners just slightly 'pushed'; Near Fine jacket; moderately worn at edges; 'tips' abraded with a few small tears (less than 1/2"; 1.5 cm].
