André Kertész. Edited by Thomas Walther. Galerie Wilde, Cologne, 1982. Unpaged. Large octavo. LIMITED EDITION OF 1000 NUMBERED COPIES, SIGNED BY KERTESZ on colophon page. This is copy number 490. This copy is also inscribed by Walther on title page ("To ______ with many thanks for your great hospitality! T. Walther/Nov. 1, 1990). Beige cloth; issued without dustjacket. Acetate protector.

A handsome slim volume, reproducing twenty-two of Kertesz's photographs in vintage format. Portrait of Kertész + short foreword by Brassai (in German) followed by the plates with captions on facing pages. Concludes with 1 p. chronology of Kertesz's life + 1 p. annotated list of plates.
These images of bohemian Paris in the 1920s include famous portraits of Mondrian and other members of the artistic intelligentsia in whose orbit Kertész moved. He preferred working with a small camera, capturing lyrical moments that often demonstrated his curiosity and were informed by his sense of design.

Very Fine.
