Cloth portfolio with printed paper label on cover. Printed in Switzerland. [There was also a more deluxe edition of twelve copies that included an original Demachy photograph authenticated by the photographer's family.] A scarce and handsome portfolio with tipped-on illustrations of sixteen toned photographs by the French fin-de-siecle pictorialist. Most are painterly portraits and landscapes, and one is a partial nude. A fine copy, with a few stray marks on the cloth portfolio and some light edge-tanning to the plain paper portfolio cover within.

society The Linked Ring, Demachy's photographs and books were known on both sides of the Atlantic. He preferred the gum bichromate and oil processes, and was best known for his sensual photographs of women and children, as well as his landscapes. A fine copy; the dustjacket spine is faded.
