This 1982 Friedlander book is a selection of work he made while on commission for the Akron Art Institute in 1979. During this time, Friedlander photographed the towns and workers in and around the Ohio River Valley. Friedlander's sharp eye, formal brilliance and wit combine to form insight into the contemporary social and industrial landscape. "Not since the Great Depression has a series of images shown the factory world with the clarity that this book does."--Leslie Katz in the afterword.
Just a trace of smudging to one edge of dust jacket (rear panel); otherwise Fine+ in Fine dust jacket. |
