The fourth and concluding volume dedicated to the work of Eugène Atget. This compilation, which includes views of street scenes, shops, canals, interiors, carnivals, and cafés, is the definitive portrait of Paris circa 1898-1927. The text by Szarkowski examines the various writings and criticisms on Atget's work since the 1920s, including the reactions and opinions of Evans, Abbott, Weston, and Adams.

Fine in a Fine (and very well protected) dust jacket; four small pieces of tape (visible in the illustration) hold the jacket in place.
