Published in conjunction with an autochrome exhibition held at the Grand Palais in Paris. 4 pp. introductory essay by Jeanne Beausoleil, conservator of the Albert Kahn Collection, which contained many thousands of autochromes. The illustrated text includes both historical and technical information on the process. One hundred examples from the exhibition are listed, and the text concludes with a bibliography. The twelve plates are beautifully printed images from autochromes; each is tipped onto stiff paper and captioned on the reverse of the mount. One image is of Louis Lumiere and his family taken outdoors. Handsomely produced.
