Second Sight. Photographs by Sally Mann. Introduction by Jane Livingston. David R. Godine, Boston, 1983. 72 pp. First Edition. Sally Mann's first monograph gives a cross-section of her early output. Included are her early landscapes from 1971-1975, as well as portraits of women and her platinum prints. Also presented here is the "Lewis Law Portfolio," evocative images from a construction site made with an 8x10 view camera. These early Mann photographs, reproduced on matt paper, were poetic and stylistically unique for their time, presaging her later work. "If she never takes another picture, Sally Mann has left her mark on photography with this book."--George Tice
Near Fine+; personal bookplate (with no name) affixed to verso of front cover; moderate creasing to edges and corners of front cover, quite typical of this stiff 'flexi-bindings'.
