Yasuhiro Yoshioka [Yoshioka Yasuhiro Sakuhinshu]. Designed by H. Narasaki. Text by Yusuke Nakahara. Self-Published, 1963. 86 pp. Small quarto [9 x 8 1/2 in./ 23 x 21.8 cm]. Clothbound. Original acetate jacket. Slipcase with printed label. 57 Black-and-white reproductions with 1 gatefold.

Yoshioka's moody, abstracted nudes are composed in grainy high-contrast tonalities that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of Eikoh Hosoe's contemporaneous Man and Woman (1961) and Embrace (1971).

Yoshioka is perhaps best known as the cinematographer on the films of renowned director Nagisa Ôshima, including Diary of a Shinjuku Thief, Three Resurrected Drunkards and Death by Hanging, among others. Included in Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and 1970s Ivan Vartanian & Ryuichi Kaneko.

Fine-/Near Fine+ acetate and Near Fine- case; scattered foxing to boards and page edges; a few nicks and small tears to extremities of acetate wrapper; case is foxed along one side with some creasing to rear flap; some wear at 'tips'.
