The Manchester Collection. Photographs by André Kertész. Edited by Harold Riley. Essays by Harold Riley, Mark Haworth-Booth, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Weston J. Naef, Colin Ford, Charles Harbutt, and Lady Marina Vaisey. Manchester Collection, London, 1984. 185 pp. Small folio. Limited edition of 150 hand-numbered copies. SIGNED on colophon page. Cloth in photo-illustrated dustjacket. Cloth slipcase. Duotone reproductions.

The Manchester Collection was an exhibition created as a 'festschrift' to celebrate Kertész's ninetieth birthday and to bring a large selection of Kertész's work to Northern England. The separate sections on early work, still-life, portraits and figure studies, abstractions, etc. are each introduced by noted photo-scholars. (NOTE: The 'Distortions' series is not included.) Two hundred ninety-seven images reproduced in rich duotone printed by Jean Genoud in Lausanne, Switzerland. Scarce limited edition; also issued in hard and softbound trade editions.

Very Fine.
