Publisher's Description
The photographs collected in Havana came out of a 10-day assignment in Cuba in January 2003 for Black & White Magazine, where Richard Pitnick serves as senior contributing editor. Illustrating the vibrant culture and the many layers of history - architectural and social - that he found walking the city streets, the book is a record of Pitnick's personal exploration of old Havana. Ultimately, the photographs detail his discovery of a living, breathing city below the layers of politicized preconceptions that often burden Havana, and Cuba in general.
